The Arts for Psychosocial Support Workshop Series

We feel passionate about the development of a community-based mental healthcare practice that is accessible and relevant to people from various backgrounds and cultures. We created a series of workshops called Arts for Psychosocial Support (APS) that offers trauma-informed approaches to community mental health and well-being and the development of collective resilience. The first workshop is called Storymaking for Resilience and it offers an adapted version of the hero’s journey to look at personal resources in relation to others in the face of adversity, the second workshop offers a Resilience-Focused Trauma Intervention tool that can be applied in the development of collective resilience and community support and finally our Arts for Hope workshop looks at themes around grief and loss. All of these workshops are situated in the belief system of collectivism and the group as a resource and source of support. People need people, I am because we are.

These workshops are packaged to offer a creative learning experience for participants. You can choose if you simply want to engage with the process as an enriching experience, or if you are filling your toolbox with ideas and activities for community-based psychosocial support practice – or both! Each workshop is broken down in sections to allow you to work through them at a pace that suits you. At the beginning of each workshop, you will be reminded to gather some materials that you will need, but don’t worry if you don’t have everything, we work with what is available! You will also receive a guide that includes all the information, tools and exercises to support you in this work. You can buy one workshop at a time, or all three at a discounted rate. Be sure to complete the questionnaire at the end of the videos in order to receive your CPD or Attendance certificate.

Thank you for being part of the practice of weaving networks of support.
