Background

As a component in a study in genomics and rheumatic heart disease (RHD), a sp(i)eel drama therapist was invited to facilitate a community engagement workshop with patients who suffers from RHD at Groote Schuur in Cape Town.

To engage with South Africans around their experiences of living with the illness and to offer a platform, through drama, for sharing personal stories and being part of a positive, supportive and empathic group experience.
